“When you have money, you have options.” My dad taught me this in my early teens, and it stuck. It gave me a perspective early on to view money as a tool to do other things. To never to worship it, and to always understand it for what it is. This lesson, coupled with the experience of college athletics, and teammates who grew up completely differently than me, shaped who I am today. America is the land of opportunity, but that opportunity is not equal. I get up every day thinking about how BMG can help people manage and build wealth no matter where they are in their own "story."
On a day to day basis, I lead the talent acquisition, business development, and strategic direction of BMG Advisors. Additionally, I have a passion for helping to coach people in all aspects, especially the areas of personal growth and leadership.
Outside of BMG Advisors, I am the co-founder of LIFT KC, a Director-level and above group focused on bringing all of KC's leaders together for authentic conversations around civic interests. I am a past Board Chair of the Urban League of Greater Kansas City, and my wife, Crystal, and I are a "Big Couple" with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City. I have two children, Conrad and Cierra. Raising them, along with being married to Crystal, are the greatest honors of my life.
For "fun", I find a little time every year to hike deep into the mountains or a river bottom for a little fly fishing and camping; usually all by myself. This time to unplug, re-center, and focus on my personal growth is something I truly cherish. "It'll change your life," I like to say.
